My trixbox server is currently setup to provision my polycom 501 phones over FTP. My only experience so far with setting up phones in trixbox has been the polycom 501's. I apologize if I have overlooked the answer that I am looking for but I have not been able to figure this out.
First of all, is there a way to use the SPA303 in the same way as the polycom 501's ie. go to the endpoint manager, select the extension and put in the mac address in the server. Then configure the server settings into the phone and off you go?
After going through all of the pages on the SPA303's web interface, I have begun to wonder if it has this capability. Although, under provisioning, it does show the option for proxy and outbound proxy with your choice of http, https, or tftp (why not ftp?).
But I don't see a place to add in a user/pass for the login types. I have disabled tftp on my server as I have never been able to get this to work through a NAT, I presume because it is a connectionless protocol. Also, there is not SPA303 option under cisco or linksys in the endoint manager, do I just use generic device?
Anyhow, any help that you can off on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
