Anybody use a wireless headset with a 55i? Like a Plantronic? If so, which one. I do not want to use a lifter.

I have tried it and it will

I have tried it and it will not work.. You are going to have to use the lifter. The issue is that the phone doesn't detect that you are taking the wireless headset "off-hook" so it just sits there.. I wish Aastra would configure them to work that way though... Also, I have even tried changing the phone type settings to get it to work, but to no avail...

Aastra doesn't publish a

Aastra doesn't publish a list of compatible headsets (wireless or otherwise), but a wireless headset should work, in the same way that corded headsets do. You won't be able to answer the call using the headset (maybe that's were the lifter comment comes from) but if you're willing to use the phone itself to answer/hangup the calls, then that isn't an issue.

For example only, (ie this isn't a recommendation or endorsement) I have a rather ancient Plantronics CA10 on connected to a 57iCT that I use on a daily basis.

snom

Snom has a solution that does not require a lifter. This is the only one I have seen so far.

I was wondering something

I was wondering something similar about headsets without lifters. I have no idea whether it will work well or not, but I thought of getting a generic wireless headset for the computer and using a softphone.

First headset arrived today.

First headset arrived today. The Plantronics CS70N

I plugged the base into the headset adaptor on the bottom of the phone.

Adjusted the set audio option on my 480i to headset/speaker

When making/picking up a call, I click the headset and pushed the green speaker button and i'm in a call.

What I can't do is have the headset just pick up a call. Not the end of the world, but the headset does work!

I don't think this will work for everyone, but it will work pretty good for alot of people without having to use the handset lifter. It would be nice if it would signal the phone without the lifter to pick up the call....oh well!

Lifter HL10

You need a Plantronic HL10 Lifter. It will lift the headset automaticaly when you answer the phone via the wireless headset.

There's no signaling between

There's no signaling between the base of the wireless headset and the phone. That's why you need the lifter.
