Documentation of the Config file for GXP-2000

Is there a configuration file definition document that defines what each field in the definition file can be? Specifically, I need to know the correct format for Specifying -8:00 PST for the Time Zone, since the default setting of 480 for Parameter P64 causes it to go forward 8 hours and -480 appears to only go back 3 hours.

Further experimentation showed that setting the offset to 180 actually sets the Time Zone to Pacific, rather than the expected 480 (or -480). Is this a bug in the 1.1.1.14 firmware, or in the Configuration creation tool?

I would also like to have the parameter definitions for the EXT box when it is attached.

Re: Documentation of the Config file for GXP-2000

You can find that information by looking at the phone's web config pages (specifically, the html source). The html forms use the same P numbers and option values that the config tool uses.

From that, you can see that the time zone is an offset from GMT-12. So, GMT-12 is 0, GMT is 720, and GMT+12 is 1440. Pacific should be 240 (when not in DST).

Re: Documentation of the Config file for GXP-2000

Ah! I hadn't thought about looking at the sources. Good pointer. Is there a definition available about how to apply the optional rule for Daylight Savings Time anywhere? The default configuration file comes with one defined in it, but it doesn't appear to translate properly to the phone, since that field is empty in the web form after it is applied. The documentation (read that comments) in the default configuration form supplied with the configuration manager should be updated to read offset from IDL not GMT...

Re: Documentation of the Config file for GXP-2000

I have that, which is what brought up the specific questions in this thread. While in some cases is says what values belong in each option or it can be inferred from the defaults, it is not always the case. The Time Zone option specifically says GMT when it uses IDL, and there is NO explaination of the Daylight Savings Time rule.

Re: Documentation of the Config file for GXP-2000

Forgive me I think I may being a little slow here!

In \TFTPBOOT I have a Grandstream_GXP2000_Default.txt file and a cfg000b820xxxxx file that is created by the Trixbox Endpoint Manager.

Does this mean that all devices have to share the base information, less changes for via the Endpoint Manager for account etc.
Is there a way to be more granular and associate an Advanced file per MAC, or should we just use the Grandstream Config tool.

Y
