Q) What is HUDlite?
A) HUDlite is a desktop application that allows you to see all of the extensions in your office and be able to manage calls between users with simple drag-and-drop functionality. It also adds interoffice instant messaging and presence notification for simplified communication between users
Q) What operating systems does HUDlite run on?
A) Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Mac OSX, Linux
Q) Do I need special server software to run HUDlite?
A) Yes, you need the HUDlite server. It is available as a download from http://hudlite.org or via the trixbox 2.0 package manager. Instructions for installing on non-trixbox systems can also be found at http://hudlite.org.
Q) How do I install the HUDlite server and admin tool in trixbox 2.0?

Q) Is there a management tool for HUDlite?
A) trixbox 2.0 has a web-based administration tool for managing the HUDlite users. For non-trixbox 2.0 systems you will need to manually edit the users.xml file or create your own basic interface.
Q) How is HUDlite different from Fonality’s HUD product?
A) HUDlite is very similar to Fonality’s HUD product except that HUDlite does not have extension search, extension grouping, and user permissions. The current release of HUDlite also does not show queue status of calls, this functionality is planned for a future version.
Q) Does HUDlite support all types of Asterisk-compatible extensions?
A) Today HUDlite supports SIP extensions and IAX extensions will be available soon. HUDLite does not currently support zap extensions.
Q) Is it possible to monitor conference rooms with HUDlite?
A) No, this is not currently supported
Q) Does HUDlite allow users to record their phone calls?
A) Yes, if that option is enabled in the server configuration
Q) Does HUDlite allow users to barge into other phone calls?
A) Yes, if that option is enabled in the server configuration
Q) Does HUDlite have a built-in softphone?
A) HUDlite does not currently have an integrated softphone
