Unable to connect to Hud Server...

Just installed the new hud server 1.4.32 and client and now I'm not able to connect to the hud server. The client spits out an error "the username and password provided are not recognized by your hud server. Did your administrator mark your extension as in hud?" I've tried removing the hud conf and xml files as suggested in a previous post as well as removing both the server and admin modules in the package manager. I'm using the trixbox IP with the password "password" as well as using the username and password for the extension from the admin module. Anyone else having this issue? It would be really nice to have a working hud...

same problem! cant test HUDlite, because can't login to server!

hi! I have the same problem trying to use hud lite for the first time! My trixbox server when booting up says "Starting hudlite-server [OK]" but when trying to connect from my Win XP the hudlite client 1.1.1170 says "the username and password provided is not known by your hud server. Did your administrator mark your extension as in hud?"
The point is that I never found where to mark my extension as "in HUD" in the web admin console of my trixbox-2.6.2.1 server!
Anyone can help!

How do I install hudlite-admin module?

Hi SkykingOH!
Thanks a lot for your reply, It seems to me that I don't have the hudlite-admin module installed! (how can I verify it????)
I've tryed in the web admin GUI the option menu "Packages" (seems to me that here I can see what packages are installed) but when trying to enter in the "Packages" option I get this error message: "Error: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid. Received:" I don't know exactly what does it means, I'm usig IE7 as browser, any idea?

There are many threads on the xml problem with the package manager.

I find it easier to use the shell, the command is 'yum install tbm-hudadmin'

still not working :(

Hi skyking!
Thanks for the information, the hudlite-admin is now installed succesfully, unfortunatelly I can't connect to hud server yet. I have the same error message.
I'm triyng this:
GENERAL:
Username: 300 (just some extension)
Password: (the extensions password, the one used by the softphone)
ADVANCED SETTINGS:
Server Name: 192.168.1.7 (the server IP address)
Server password: "password" (without the quotes)
Server port: 6600

Any idea? is it true that I have to define the extension 300 as "In hud"????? where do I configure that?
Thanks!

If you installed huliteadmin

If you installed huliteadmin it should have added an option to your trixbox menu to run the utility.

It uses separate passwords from the SIP secret.

You need to use the hud-lite

You need to use the hud-lite admin password. It adds an entry to the trixbox menu,

hudlite admin

Under packages I installed this version: hudlite-server hudlite-server backend for HUDlite 1.4.32-2
It does not start at bootup and says that it "failed"
I have and entry in the trixbox menu for Hudlite Admin but when I click on I get the following warnings. Any ideas why?

a backwards fix

I have the same issue with connecting using the HUDLite client... even using the HudAdmin page passwords it doesn't work.. I installed a fresh trixbox also...

I also had the PHP errors on Trixbox for multiplue screens and no one was posting about it... that was using 2.8.0.1 now I reverted back to 2.6.2.3 and everything works as far as the PHP errors are concerned...

try this

Hi,

I had the same problem. The server didn´t have the hud directory in /etc/asterisk.

Solution:

1- cd /etc/asterisk
2- mkdir hud
3- chown asterisk.asterisk hud
4- service hudlite-server start
5- Reboot the system.

Try again. That solve to me.

Check if the server is configured to start automatically: chkconfig --list hudserver-list
And keep in mind that you need at least one extension configured.

It's installed and running

It's installed and running on my server thanks to the tips above about /etc/asterick/hud...

... but I can't find it in the trixbox menus to configure/work on it. Anyone know why?

Anyone that's got it working, if you hover over the link, what's the url? Maybe I can go there manually...

Nevermind, I'm running 2.8.2 and now realize hudlite is a dead issue for me. Joy.
