Im trying to save Polycom volume settings (ringer, speakerphone, handset) but when reseting the phone, it also resets these volumes to default. Is there any way to keep the last settings in flash / .conf?
Thanks

You need to set volume persistence to retain volume settings. Set the following below as their defaults are "0" (reset volume).
voice.volume.persist.handset=1
voice.volume.persist.headset=1
voice.volume.persist.handsfree=1

The ringer still resets to default values. Its just too low. How to make it persistent?
Ringer volume should maintain its volume setting. I don't have an IP3x0 in my lab to confirm this on the 3x0, but this is the behavior of our other SoundPoints. Let me know if it doesn't and I'll investigate further when I return to the office next week.

I was able to get another engineer confirm the IP330s behave much like our other SoundPoints. That is, the ringer volume should be persistent when it is changed, until the phone reboots, in which it returns to the default volume.

But the issue is after it reboots! It should be able to store configurations on the config file and after reboot get the same values, for ringer volume in this case. Any way?
Valid argument on both sides. Feature request?

I am not trying to be wise, but I am curious as to the benefits of not having a persistent ringer volume?

An example: Users like to put their own ringer volumes, some low and some high. It stays well until i reboot the phone. Then it gets factory settings and users have to adjust volumes again. Not that is too much annoying, just something that our old system used to do... And has some logic.
Mitchell - any progress on getting this feature added? One of my clients is missing a lot of calls because of this problem. They're becoming frustrated with the phones.
I submitted a feature request. If you visit https://jira.polycom.com:8443/ and search for "volume" you can comment and receive email notification on the status of the ticket.
What fortunate timing, I've been away from the forum for almost 9 weeks due to a heavy travel schedule.
First the disclaimer...
The default gain settings have been carefully adjusted to comply with the TIA-810-A digital telephony standard. Polycom recommends that you do not change these values.
If you would please test the suggestion below and let me know the results I'd greatly appreciate it.
Try modifying the value for voice.gain.rx.digital.ringer.IP_330 in sip.cfg in increments of +3. My default value in SIP 3.0.1 ="-12" until suitable change or volume negatively deteriorates.
Hope this helps!

How do we change the settings either that:
- By default, the user can change his/her ring tone, and those settings will still be active after a phone reboot
- Manually set the default ring tone for all the phones through the sip.cfg file

all tags removed for posting
There is a free XML editor from Microsfot called XML notepad if you are using MS Windows.
It enables you to easily manage tags. Just because the tag is not in the current config does not mean you can't add it.
Refer to the Administrators Guide for the version software you are running for the exact tag name.

I found it, it was in the sip.cfg on my other tftp server.
