Sangoma A200 w/HW EC and 2.6 with OSLEC

I'm looking at the configuration of the A200 card with hardware echo cancellation. The config files shows it active but at the same time the Zaptel shows OSLEC active.
Zaptel Version: 1.4.10
Echo Canceller: OSLEC

I don't think both should be active or am I missing something?

If I need to shut down OSLEC what is the best method?

Thanks,
Fred

Hi, When the hardware EC is

Hi,

When the hardware EC is activate then the software EC will disable it's self. So there should be no issue with our hardware EC and OSLEC.

Something not working right then....

I rebuilt my Trixbox server upgrading the hardware and TrixBox to 2.6. I moved the Sangoma A200 with hardware echo cancellation card to the new box and all works just fine except for analog lines volume. I researched the issue here and came up with a number of people having a similar problem. It seems that the analog line volume gets depressed by OSLEC after having all of the echo removed via the hardware cancellation. Turning up the volume in zapata.conf does not help and makes the issue even worse to the point that received audio is very low and cuts in and out sporadically.

Attempts to make a difference:
Turned off echo cancellation in zapata and set tx/rc gain to 0 - same issue low volume and cut in and out. Seems like OSLEC is active even when turned off in zapata.

Turned off Sangoma hardware echo cancellation turned on echo cancellation in zapata - volume good no echo in simple test.

It is obviously an interaction with OSLEC and Sangoma HWEC. Since the Sangoma is a superior HWEC solution I would like to disable OSLEC or revert to a less aggressive EC.

Hi, This appears to be

Hi,

This appears to be something with our EC because when you set both echocancel=no echocancelwhenbridged=no then OSLEC should not be running. Please send an email to techdesk@sangoma.com with a quick summary of what the issue is and we will trouble shoot this further with you.

Hi, Yes Konrad is on

Hi,

Yes Konrad is on vacation and techdesk@sangoma.com simply sends the email to all the Tech Support Engineers here. So his auto reply is simply just responding back and saying he is on vacation, but the email goes to other support engineers so it will be answered.

hello I have trixbox 2.6.1

hello

I have trixbox 2.6.1 with sangoma A400(8FXO).

I'm not sure if my situation may help, but I had the problem calling PSTN/landlind after install driver for sangoma : can NOT call PSTN at all.

After 2 days of dianosing, the simple yet strang solution came out:
- Edit /etc/wanpipe/wanpipe1.conf, last line, change TDMV_HWEC from YES to NO, and it works perfectly, as below:

------------------------------------
[w1g1]
ACTIVE_CH = ALL
TDMV_ECHO_OFF = NO
TDMV_HWEC = NO
-----------------------------------------

Strange is with PSTN calls, there is no echo, and the result of CLI command "zap show channel 1" indicates that Echo canceller is ON!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLI> zap show channel 1
Channel: 1I>
File Descriptor: 15
Span: 1
Extension:
Dialing: no
Context: from-zaptel
Caller ID:
Calling TON: 0
Caller ID name:
Destroy: 0
InAlarm: 0
Signalling Type: FXS Kewlstart
Radio: 0
Owner: Zap/1-1
Real: Zap/1-1
Callwait:
Threeway:
Confno: -1
Propagated Conference: -1
Real in conference: 0
DSP: yes
Relax DTMF: no
Dialing/CallwaitCAS: 0/0
Default law: ulaw
Fax Handled: no
Pulse phone: no
Echo Cancellation: 128 taps unless TDM bridged, currently ON Actual Confinfo: Num/0, Mode/0x0000
Actual Confmute: No
Hookstate (FXS only): Offhook
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Test with 2 cards A400, and the same result.

Maybe it's the bug in sangoma driver for trixbox 2.6.1.

checking if OSLEC is active

Marc assisted me a few nights ago after I bravely did a yum -y update. I was on TB 2.4 - and ended up on 2.6.1 after 197 updates :(. Only thing that broke were the old drivers I had loaded - easy fix was single user mode and rpm the old ones out. downloaded the new sangoma drivers and all good. (I have an A500 and an A200 in a DELL R200) - 2 Sangoma PCI-e cards both with HEC.

I too noted the OSLEC info about being loaded and active. Marc (Sangoma) got me to type this while in a call :-

cat /proc/oslec/info
if it says :
no echo canceller being monitored - make a new call
DURING the call - then it is NOT in force

The stuff is in my case is working as designed. Marc was right on the money :)
