I have 8 Grandstream GXP2000's with "side car" extension modules, using BLF as the "Key Mode" for several FreePBX extensions that ring on these phones. Firmware version is 1.1.5.15. I upgraded to Trixbox 2.2.8, and now incoming calls, when not answered (i.e. goes to VM or the caller hangs up) make the BLF lamps continue to flash red after the call is ended. They will flash on every phone until you pick up the handset, press the offending button and let it ring at least once, then hang up. That will reset to the green light until the next missed call.
Anyone have this same configuration of Trixbox & Grandstream 2000's using BLF? If so, does the same thing happen? The culprit may be the "side car" extension unit.
Anyone have GXP2000, Trixbox 2.2.8, using BLF?
Timd3, we are looking into this.
I'm running TB 2.2.9 with GXP-2000's at 1.1.4.18 firmware, and I noticed the flashing BLF problem when I did a page all (pages 8 extensions at once), the BLF lights went nuts until I did you like said. Called the offending extension from each phone.
No sidecars on my phones.

rnsvi: Please upgrade your firmware to 1.1.5.15, there are numerous bugs fixed in 1.1.5.15.
This ended up not fixing the problem. It would end the call if it rang through to voice mail, but if someone answered the phone, about half the time one or two of the BLF lamps would continue to blink red.
Posted earlier:
This fixed the blinking LED problem for me, hope it helps anyone with the same issue until Grandstream fixes 1.1.5.15:
I think the phone is not recognizing that the call is ended.
This workaround made the BLF LED go back to green when the call goes to VM. I changed the "Follow Me" extension in Trixbox to forward the incoming call, on no answer, to a ring group for that extension. The ring group rings the extension for 3 seconds, then sends the call to VM. Apparently, this tells the phones that the call is ended, so the BLF LED's go back to green.
It might be specific to an older phone, as well. One of the eight phones is older than the rest. I had to include this phone's extension in the ring group to get it to stop blinking the red LED on it's corresponding speed dial, even though the firmware version is identical to the rest.
Upgrading to 1.1.5.15 caused the problem for me. It would be nice to hear a response from GS on this. Looks like a bug to me, where the phone does not recognize that the call is ended. If GS can not replicate this problem, please contact me. I tried two versions of Trixbox, two versions of Asterisk, and multiple phones, all with the same results.
timd3: Yes, GS is now aware of such a bug, engineering is scheduled to debug and fix it.
Do you have a time frame for this? Even a ballpark estimate would be helpful.
It should be in the next release, not sure when it will be released:(. (Guess might be a bit longer time due to holidays).
I've been trying to find a common occurrence that will make this happen (or not happen). I may have stumbled on something...when I have more than 6 phones being called, one or two of the BLF lights continues to blink after the call (about 60% of the time). I doesn't seem to matter which phones, even if one of them is a Snom 360. It also doesn't seem to matter whether the extension units are attached or not. I forwarded this information to the GS tech who emailed earlier asking if the number of BLF lamps made a difference. Will continue to monitor this and update if I hear anything, or find a resolution. Does anyone know how Asterisk (or FreePBX) contacts the phones to let them know the BLF light should be blinking, red, or green? Since the phones don't seem to be getting the message that the call is ended, I wonder if this is a good place to start the trouble shooting process?
You could try blending in with some Honda auto parts and maybe that will do the trick, but if not, you may require a professional.
I have problems with BLF on GXP2000 with other firmwares diferent from 1.1.6.16. Even with the latest 1.1.6.46, BLF hangs/ being unresponsive...
I'm now pleased with 1.1.6.16. Trixbox 2.6.2.2.
