Andrew,
Have you set up a policy on posting tutorials in the documentation section?
There are several good posts running around here (and in the old forums) on topics like "How to cross-Trunk two systems", "Streaming Music on Hold", "Restricting extensions outgoing abilities", etc, etc, etc.... That probably shopuld be massaged a bit and turned into articles in this section for easy reference when these questions turn up in the forums.....

Re: Tutorials

In my spare time :) Right after I finish getting this TV station on air (2 weeks and counting !! :)

I was considering collecting up a few of the better ones and cleaning them up. As I do, I will send them to you.

Re: Tutorials

Andrew,

I have written a Guide type tutorial for this - I call it TRIXBOX Without Tears.

I hope it will help in some small way.

How hard could it be? Grandstream GXW-4104 Configuration

OK, here's the deal. I have to admit that I'm at a very steep place on the learning curve. I am an old telecom engineer who was talked into building a VOIP telephone system.
- We are in the U.S.
- I have a PC running TrixBox 2.2.4.
- The business has 2 loop start phone lines
- We (I) bought a Grandstream GXW-4104 FXO ATA to use as trunk interfaces.

Goal: Use the GXW-4104 to implement 2 way trunks for the TrixBox PBX.

Problem:

- There is about 6 pages of parameters that can be changed on the GXW-4104 and I bet there are only about 10 items that really need to be changed. I just don't know which ones.

- There are lots of cool things I can do with TrixBox, I just need to be able to be able to have incoming calls go to an IVR tree and have people who dial 9+(7,10, 11) digits go to a trunk and complete a call.

I'm sure this has all been covered somewhere. Can someone point me to a tutorial or white paper outlining this? I called Grandstream and their tech support line people sounded like this sort of application is outside the scope of their capability. I've seen all kinds of things that describe really cool and wonderful things that can be done but people seem not to be interested in the meat and potatoes applications.

Thanks, Bill
