default access point: your access point at home
public user name:sip:EXTENSIONHERE@YOUR ASTERISK SERVER HERE (must be a public IP or domain name that is accessible from the internet if you are not on the same network as your asterisk server)
use compression: no
registration: always on ( i dont think it matters in anycase)
use security: no

PROXY SERVER MENU
proxy server address: sip:YOUR ASTERISK SERVER HERE (must be a public IP or domain name that is accessible from the internet if you are not on the same network as your asterisk server)
realm: asterisk (if you have a new install that has not been modified then it will be the same. if you have modified it then it will be different. im not sure where to locate this setting if you changed it)
user name: EXTENSIONHERE
password: PASSWORDHERE
allow loose routing: yes
transport type: UDP
port:5060 (unless you changed it from a new install)

REGISTRAR SERVER MENU
registrar server address: sip:asterisk (if you have a new install that has not been modified then it will be the same. if you have modified it then it will be different. im not sure where to locate this setting if you changed it)

password: LEAVE BLANK

port: 5060 (unless you changed it from a new install)

the asterisk server does not have a public IP and does have port 5060 setup in the router so it can be accessed away from the location of the server.

THE ONLY PROBLEM IM HAVING IS.... that when an incoming call rings in it rings a half of ring then stops. but the person calling that extension still hears ringing and then eventually voicemail..
